Students

Students from a range of partner primary schools attend the campuses of Chifley College.  They are provided with a rich curricula and programs that allow them to showcase their talents and develop in academic, social and sporting arenas.  A scholarship program provides financial and material support for students enrolling in Year 7.

Our students participate in three transition stages: Year 6 into 7; Year 10 into Year 11 and into post schooling options. Each campus offers a range of transition activities that support their progression into the next phase. Junior students attend Bidwill, Dunheved, Mt Druitt or Shalvey Campuses then undertake their senior studies at Bidwill or Senior Campuses before moving into post school options.

Each campus has a Support Unit to cater for the diagnosed learning needs of students. Students with ASD and multi-category diagnosis are provided with places from Year 7 to 12 within the College. Diverse learning opportunities are provided for students to develop cognitive, life management and social skills. Students participate in classroom and community activities to support their transition into life after school.

Chifley College has developed many community partnerships which support students outcomes. A strong relationship with the University of Western Sydney assists students in developing the confidence to pursue an academic pathway on the completion of Year 12. Many students undertake TAFE courses as part of their pattern of study and this provides them with a taster of the style of learning and options available through TAFE. Employers in our local community provide work experience for Year 10 students and work placement for senior students studying VET subjects.

A wide variety of extra-curricula activities support the development of the individual student. Opportunities exist in Creative and Performing Arts showcasing the skills and talents of students in range of artistic medium.   Students are encouraged to participate in sporting pursuits and Rugby League is an important part of the sporting culture within the College at both junior and senior levels.

Students are expected to pursue all their activities with the College motto, Learn Discover Inspire in mind and to ensure a safe and productive learning environment for all.
